7 Simple Tips To Make A Yummy Salad

I thought I’d share with you today, how we can shake up a salad… shake it baby!

Hi girls, it’s Kaz here from Kaz TV and it’s Weight Loss Wednesday.

Now we all know that salads can get a little bit drab and boooring, so these are a few tips to making them a bit more exciting and appetizing…  7 Simple Tips To Make A Yummy Salad.

First up, I like to change my lettuce around (be a dare devil!) so rather than just having the iceberg lettuce every day, I try and use a bit of spinach or a bit of rocket sometimes some kale, some butter lettuce, some of those different types of lettuces.  Even a bit of cabbage and some grated carrot can make it a little bit different.

I love, and this is a good one, to add something a bit warm to your salad.  Maybe some asparagus that you pan fried in a little bit of garlic and Parmesan cheese or some nice blanched green beans.  Something that’s a little bit warm can a lot of pizazz.

Then we can choose some different little additives too.

Add a few nuts, just a few, you don’t want to go over the top but if you like them… little bits of walnuts or a few little cashews on top can always make it a bit different.  Hazelnuts, roasted hazelnuts are yummy too.  Just sprinkle a little bit on top of the salad, just to give it a bit of crunch and something a bit different.

Same with a little bit of cheese, you can always have a sprinkle of Parmesan on top or crumble a little bit of feta.  Those sort of things can add a ‘bingo’ of pizazz to your salad as well.   (I just made up that phrase… I like it, don’t you?)

Don’t forget some of your healthy dressings, so you can always add a little bit of olive oil, some balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar is nice, a bit of lemon juice, bit of mustard.

All those different types of vinaigrettes that you can make and add it to the salad as well.
